Frequently Asked Questions

We answer all your questions about product photography, product videos and content creation.

Question 1: Why product photography is important?

If you want to build trust with your customers, professional product photography is one way to establish that you are reputable brand. If your prices are in the medium to high range, product photography is especially important as it can help communicate the value of your product. No one buys a $40 moisturizer on a website with amateur photos shot on an iPhone because it looks like I can buy that product for $5 at a local market.

Question 2: What is lifestyle product photography?

Lifestyle product photography are photos of products shot on real-life scenarios and locations such as a house or a beach. Unlike studio styled product photography that uses backdrops and creates dream-like scenes for your products, lifestyle photos showcase how your products will fit into your customers lifestyle. It helps them imagine your products in their day-to-day such as seeing it in a bathroom shelf or using a sunscreen at the beach.

Question 3: How much do you charge for product photography?

Product photography prices vary on the style, products and deliveries that you require. We have fixed packages that will fit a specific group of brands delivering a specific style and number of assets to ensure brands can budget for their product photography and video needs. For brands that have a very particular requirement that doesn't fit in our packages, we have custom quotes to cater for these needs.

Question 4: How does product photography with models work?

With our model shoot packages, we hire models externally. We work with a set of models that we have fixed rates and budgets for. In any event that the client has particular needs for a model that is out of the set budget in the package, additional fees will incur. Product photos with models can be shot in studio or on location.

Question 5: Is it important to have product photographers near me?

Product photography can be done anywhere as long as the product gets shipped to us. For brands that are close to Melbourne, it can be handy to deliver the products to us personally to avoid any shipping costs. Location is usually not a big factor to consider with product photography.

Question 6: Do I need to go with a product photography studio near me?

Clients are not usually required to come on a product photography shoot but are welcomed to when they want to. It is not a need but it could be a preference for the client.

Question 7: Which is better? Product Photography vs UGC?

Product photography serves a different purpose than UGC. You need both for your ecommerce business. Product photos put your products under the best light possible. It helps sell your products and communicate the value of your product. Without a professional product photo, your brand will struggle to maintain a professional and reliable status. UGC or user generated content is like testimonials for your product. They showcase authenticity and serves as social proof for your business. Without both, your business will struggle to thrive.

Question 8: Which one to choose? Product Photography vs CGI?

This is entirely dependent on style and your product. Having your products authentically photographed will help build trust. But if you are trying to showcase ingredients, formulas or the complexities of your packaging, CGI might be a better choice for you.
